Together, Is Anything Possible? A Look at Collective Commitments for Agents
نویسنده
چکیده
In this research, commitments – specifically collective commitments – are looked at as a way to model connections between agents in groups. Using the concepts and ideas from action languages, we propose to model these commitments as actions along with the other basic actions that autonomous agents are capable of performing. The languages developed will be tested against different examples from various multi-agent system (MAS) areas and implemented to run in answer set programming. 1998 ACM Subject Classification I.2.4 Knowledge Representation Formalisms and Methods, I.2.11 Distributed Artificial Intelligence

Collective Motivational Attitudes in Cooperative Problem Solving
In this paper we investigate the role of collective commitments in groups of agents involved in Cooperative Problem Solving (CPS). Collective intentions and collective commitmens are formalized in the logical framework designed by Rao and Georgee in 22]. The novelty of our approach is to base a collective commitment on a social plan, and deening it in terms of collective intentions and pairwise...
متن کاملAnalyzing the Costs of Collective Actions for Political, Administrative, and Economic Agents to Facilitate Investment
The processes of collective action of individuals within the government organization and the formation and modification of these processes in the private sector have fundamental differences with collective action. A collective action, either in the form of an activity or in the form of a reform of an entity, both has transaction costs for agents within the process. So, a collective action withi...
متن کاملA Modal Semantics for an Argumentation-Based Pragmatics for Agent Communication
In this paper we present a modal semantics for our approach based on social commitments and arguments for conversational agents. Our formal framework based on this approach uses three basic elements: social commitments, actions that agents apply to these social commitments and arguments that agents use to support their actions. This framework, called Commitment and Argument Network (CAN), forma...
متن کاملA Tuning Machine for Cooperative Problem Solving
In this paper we aim to formally model individual, social and collective motivational attitudes in teams of agents involved in Cooperative Problem Solving. Particular attention is given to the strongest motivational attitude, collective commitment, which leads to team action. First, building on our previous work, a logical framework is sketched in which social commitments and collective intenti...
